Landscape and Plant Information

Gardening enthusiasts will love the wide range of landscape and nursery booths headlined by the California Landscape Contractors Association booth. If you need a licensed contractor to landscape that neglected yard, visit one of our professionals.
Along with industry professionals, don’t forget our local community garden clubs and organizations. If you want the right tree, The Tree Foundation of Kern booth will have the answer. If you want to learn more about Roses, Camellias, Cactus, California Natives or gardening in general, then join us and our many community organizations.
Garden Fest is also a great place to find plants for your yard. Remember to support the Bakersfield College Environmental Horticulture plant sale. These are plants that students grew and also donations from industry. If you are looking for the unusual you may find it at one of the garden club booths.

The IKEA Renegade Ruckus Cook Off Competition

The Bakersfield College Culinary Arts students participate in the Renegade Ruckus Cook Off Competition at Garden Fest. Students teams compete in a 'Chopped' style contest complete with a mystery basket of food items they must prepare and serve to a panel of local distinguished judges.
The competition is fierce and the results are delicious. Our top culinary students are picked to participate in this fast paced, fun 'food fight' for bragging rights and a full package of prep station necessities donated by IKEA.
